NOTICE
Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota
- Beginning 12:00AM on Friday, April 24th, 2020, the commercial possession limit for Summer flounder Aggregate Landing Program will be increased to eight thousand five hundred (8,500) pounds per vessel for the month of April 2020, until the program ends on April 30, 2020. This allows permitted vessels to land a total of 8,500 pounds from April 3, 2020 to April 30, 2020.
The Aggregate Landing Program will terminate when ninety percent (90%) of the winter sub-period has been harvested and the possession limit shall be one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per calendar day.
For vessels without a fluke exemption certificate, the possession limit remains at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.
Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications. Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php.
Thank you.
