Please be advised that rules (Part 4 – Shellfish) were recently filed regarding Whelk minimum size, that was subject of a public notice on May 1 and RI Marine Fisheries Council meeting on June 1. As a result of this filing, please be advised that Whelk minimum size is now measured as 2 ΒΌ” shell height. Both shell width and shell length have been removed from the rule as measurement metrics.
