CARES Fishery Relief Data Requests
In accordance with the CARES Act, Rhode Island has received funds for fisheries relief in response to COVID-19. The funds are meant to provide assistance to eligible fishery
participants in the specified categories to address direct and indirect COVID-19 impacts. RIDMF is developing an application for all fishing sectors to apply for relief funds. The four sectors are:
Commercial Fishing
Seafood Processors
Party and Charter
Aquaculture
Per the CARES Act, applications will require applicants to show they had at least a 35% loss in revenue from March – May 2020 in relation to their March-May average from 2015-2019. To help support the application process, RIDMF has created a streamlined data request process for applicants to receive landings data digitally. Persons wishing to request data in support of their applications must submit a fully completed form, accessible here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdnUgwC2dj_YBOkHRin7zAbahKgJ_RnapGdQOdWkyaisb2x-Q/viewform [docs.google.com].
Please note that RIDMF may not be able to fulfill data requests that do not answer all questions completely and you may be required to resubmit your information. To avoid delays, please answer all questions completely.
All requests must also be submitted 5 business days before the close of the disaster relief application period to ensure that requestors receive their data in time.
