REMINDER: CARES Fishery Relief Data Request Period Closes Wednesday September 23rd
In accordance with the CARES Act, Rhode Island has received funds for fisheries relief in response to COVID-19. The funds are meant to provide assistance to eligible fishery participants in the specified categories (commercial fishing, dealers/seafood processors, party and charter, and aquaculture) to address direct and indirect COVID-19 impacts.
Per the CARES Act, applications will require applicants to show they had at least a 35% loss in revenue from March – May 2020 in relation to their March-May average from 2015-2019. To help support the application process, RIDMF has created a streamlined data request process for applicants to receive landings data digitally. Persons wishing to request data in support of their applications must submit a fully completed form, accessible here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdnUgwC2dj_YBOkHRin7zAbahKgJ_RnapGdQOdWkyaisb2x-Q/viewform [docs.google.com].
All requests must also be submitted 5 business days before the close of the disaster relief application period to ensure that requestors receive their data with sufficient time to complete their CARES Act affidavit.
The data request period closes Wednesday September 23rd. CARES Act affidavits must be submitted by Monday September 28th.
Please note that RIDMF may not be able to fulfill data requests that do not answer all questions completely and you may be required to resubmit your information. To avoid delays, please answer all questions fully.
