Attention Rhode Island Lobster Fishery Participants
The RIDEM Division of Marine Fisheries is holding an informational outreach meeting to inform the Rhode Island Lobster industry on NOAA’s Final Rule resulting in changes to the Atlantic Large Whale Take Reduction Plan. These changes will impact the Rhode Island State and Federal waters participants of LCMA 2. The Department will also be administering a relief package with funds available from NOAA meant to provide assistance to those participants affected by this rule. The Department will be seeking industry input on the spend plan for this relief package at this meeting.
This meeting will be both in-person and virtual (zoom). The meeting will be held at Corless Auditorium on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 at 6:00pm.
