Electronic Tracking Requirements for Federal Lobster Permit Holders
Please be reminded that recent rule changes to regulations Part 5 – Lobsters, Crabs, and Other Crustaceans require electronic tracking of commercial lobster and Jonah crab permit holders who hold a federal lobster trap allocation authorizing them to fish in waters under the jurisdiction of federal government (please see section 5.5.8 of the rule). Installation of an approved device must be installed on vessels prior to the first trip with pots/trap gear onboard.
