Save The Date: Meetings on Draft Guidance on Mitigating Impacts from Offshore Wind Projects on Fisheries 

Hello,  

Please mark your calendar to attend a meeting being held by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), in consultation with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and affected coastal states, to discuss draft guidance for ways to mitigate impacts from offshore wind projects on commercial and recreational fisheries and fishing. The guidance was developed based on public input received in late 2021.  

BOEM is holding four public meetings in June 2022 to: 

1.  Present the draft guidance.   

2.  Answer questions about the draft guidance and how it was developed.  

3.  Receive feedback on key issue areas.  

4.  Provide information on how to submit comments during the public comment process. 

The workshops are intended primarily for commercial and recreational fishermen on the West Coast, the Gulf, and the Atlantic Coast, as well as developers. However, the meetings are open to the public. 

The meeting times and dates are: 

Developers meeting: Tuesday, June 14, 1 – 3:00 p.m. ET  [r20.rs6.net]

East Coast meeting: Wednesday, June 15, 9 – 11:00 a.m. ET [r20.rs6.net] 

Gulf of Mexico meeting: Thursday June 16, 9 – 11:00 a.m. CT  [r20.rs6.net]

Pacific Coast meeting: Thursday, June 16, 1 – 3 p.m. PT  [r20.rs6.net]
