Rhode Island Shellfish Restoration and Enhancement Plan (SREP)
In-person Workshops – March 13-15, 2023
Shellfish provide ecosystem services that support the health and well-being of Rhode Island’s estuarine systems and local communities. In recognition of these critical services, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Marine Fisheries and our partners [risrep.org] are creating a Shellfish Restoration and Enhancement Plan (SREP).
Your knowledge, vision, and contributions are needed to set goals and priorities! Please visit “Get Involved [risrep.org]” at risrep.org [risrep.org] to learn more and watch the recorded March 3 [drive.google.com]rd [drive.google.com] Kickoff Event [drive.google.com].
To guide this process, we are hosting a series of facilitated in-person workshops for stakeholders to share knowledge and perspectives and identify restoration priorities and goals based on ecosystem services. Workshop objectives include:
- Defining and ranking the restoration priorities and goals for the workshop’s region
- Describing any knowledge or information that can help address each goal
- Providing feedback on the planning process
Please consider participating in these workshops. This is a stakeholder-driven process and we need your input!
