[Rimarinefisheries] Direct Sales of Seafood — June 22 Webinar — Hold the Date

This is to confirm the webinar on Monday, June 22 from 5-7 pm, which will address direct sales of seafood in RI.  The zoom meeting information is provided below.  The meeting experience is best if viewed on a computer.  A call-in option exists, but callers will only be able to hear, not see, the presentation.

The primary focus of the first part of the meeting will be to review the provisions of, and address questions pertaining to, the new Direct Sale Dealer License.  This email invite will be forwarded to all 75+ licensees.  All are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting, but particularly for the first portion, those holding licenses will be prioritized with regard to questions and comments.

The second part of the meeting will address marketing and promotional opportunities for direct sales of seafood in RI.  Brief presentations will be offered on the SeafoodRI.com website, the RISeafoodRocks Facebook page, and a new initiative backed by the Commercial Fisheries Center of RI and RI Sea Grant involving the adoption of a “Fish Line” phone app for use by fishermen selling direct.

The third and final part of the meeting will be an open forum, structured around experiences to date with the new license program, suggestions for program modifications and improvements, and the identification of needs and interests that might be met by DEM and partners who stand ready to assist.
