Assistance with VMS data for Vineyard Wind compensation applications
Vineyard Wind has created a fisheries compensatory mitigation program to provide compensation to commercial fishermen for economic losses attributable to Vineyard Wind 1’s construction, operations, and decommissioning activities. The RIDEM Division of Marine Fisheries is offering analytical assistance on Vessel Monitoring System data to potentially eligible commercial fishing vessel owners/operators that fished in the Vineyard Wind I Wind Development Area.
However, vessel owners/operators must request data from NOAA (see attached PDF) and provide it to RIDEM to receive assistance. The RIDEM is not authorized to release confidential federal data but can assist with analysis on data provided to the vessel owner/operator by NOAA. Please see the attached PDF for instructions and the application to request assistance.
